Becoming a Writer​

Anyone can be a writer! Learn what makes a writer (reading and revision) and interact with the publishing process through real-life examples, story prompts, and whole-group writing activities in this 40-minute workshop. This workshop is also offered as a multi-day or author-in-residence event in which students write, illustrate, and publish their own stories. (Additional fees apply.) Addresses Common Core Writing Standards.

Engage student senses in this hands-on, 30-minute workshop building vocabulary and learning about the music of words. A great introduction to adjectives. Addresses Common Core Speaking/Listening and Writing Standards.

Learn to research and evaluate source-material in this 50-minute workshop designed to help kids find the "story" in nonfiction. Addresses Common Core Standards for Research and Inquiry.
