Becoming a Writer​

Anyone can be a writer! Learn what makes a writer and interact with the revision process through story prompts and whole-group revision/feedback activities in this 45-50 minute workshop. Workshop can be tailored as a multi-day or author-in-residence event in which students write, illustrate, and publish their own stories. (Additional fees apply.)

Writing with the Senses*

Engage student senses in this hands-on, 30-minute workshop building vocabulary and learning about the music of words. A great introduction to adjectives.

peanut butter sandwich. Rediscover nonfiction in this engaging 50-60 minute workshop designed to help kids find the "story" in informational texts. We'll cover the five types of modern nonfiction, learn to research and evaluate source-material, and enjoy behind-the-scenes stories from social studies and science texts by Roxanne Troup.
