We loved having Roxanne visit our school! What a great way to get students excited about writing! Her presentation was creating and engaging. She had kids up and moving, and best of all - WRITING! As a former teacher, everything she did correlated to the classroom (and our teachers loved the resources she left behind for them). We can't wait to have Roxanne back and highly recommend her author visits!

Becoming a Writer was a great fit for our 3rd-5th grade students. Roxanne was prepared, purposeful, and personable. The workshop was tailored to the standards and engaging to the students. I've never seen them have so much fun writing! Roxanne also did a presentation for our younger students titled “Writing with the Senses”. It was perfect for our primary grades. The workshop was well-paced and well-planned with activities building to the final writing, which was amazing! Roxanne had instant rapport with the students and great classroom management skills. Students are still talking about their experience!

Roxanne Troup is an incredible speaker and educator. She runs her workshops seamlessly, entertaining and educating students with unique activities that deepen their understanding of writing and revising. Bringing industry experience to the table, Roxanne’s information is relevant and inspires student-writers to think about their future careers. I highly recommend her for writer’s workshops and author visits!

What a great experience! Roxanne kept my third-grade students engaged, even on a virtual platform, I loved the way she described her writing process (and the kids loved seeing her journal!); it was good for them to see that writing is not a quick process, but it takes time and dedication.

We loved Roxanne's author visit! She is so knowledgeable and friendly and willing to engage with students. Even her Q&A session kept everyone engaged.

Roxanne joined my fourth grade classroom as an "Author in Residence." She worked with at-risk and regular classroom students building their reading and writing skills. She was always willing to jump in and help where needed, and the students looked forward to the days she would be in the classroom to work with them. It was wonderful having her share her expertise in writing!
-Danielle Harding, Teacher
High Plains Elementary School, CO
Roxanne did a great job engaging my students and reinforcing their learning. They had fun relaying information through real-life examples and got to put what they learned immediately into their writing. We will be practicing "writing with our senses" throughout the rest of the year in as many exciting ways as we can!
-Emylee Van Denend, First Grade Teacher
High Plains Elementary School, CO

Roxanne's visit was awesome! She has a great variety of writing experiences, and could speak to any type of writing students are working on. I loved the comparison of writing to growing a plant. What a great correlation!
